Importing Links

Bring your existing links into ShrinkLink from other services or spreadsheets.

Import from CSV

Upload a CSV file with your links. Required and optional columns:

Column Required Description
url Yes Destination URL
slug No Custom slug (auto-generated if empty)
title No Link title
tags No Comma-separated tags
created_at No Original creation date (ISO 8601)

Import Steps

  1. Go to DataImport
  2. Select CSV Import
  3. Upload your CSV file
  4. Map columns to ShrinkLink fields
  5. Preview and confirm
  6. Click Import
Tip: Preview your import before confirming. Fix any issues in your CSV and re-upload if needed.

Import from Bitly

Migrate your Bitly links to ShrinkLink easily:

  1. Go to DataImport
  2. Select Import from Bitly
  3. Enter your Bitly API token or upload Bitly export
  4. Select links to import
  5. Choose import options (preserve slugs, import tags, etc.)
  6. Click Import

What Gets Imported

  • Original destination URLs
  • Custom slugs (when available)
  • Link titles
  • Tags and categories
  • Creation dates
  • Click counts (as historical reference)

Import from Rebrandly

Similar process for Rebrandly migration:

  1. Go to DataImport
  2. Select Import from Rebrandly
  3. Authenticate with Rebrandly
  4. Select workspace and links to import
  5. Review and confirm

Note: Imported slugs only work if they're available. If a slug is already taken, you'll be prompted to choose an alternative.

Exporting Data

Download your links and analytics data at any time.

  1. Go to DataExport
  2. Select what to export (all links, filtered selection, etc.)
  3. Choose format (CSV or JSON)
  4. Click Export

Export Analytics

Export detailed analytics data for reporting or analysis:

  1. Go to Statistics
  2. Apply desired filters (date range, links, etc.)
  3. Click Export
  4. Select data to include
  5. Choose format and download

Tags

Tags provide flexible, non-hierarchical organization for your links.

Creating Tags

Create tags in two ways:

  • On the fly: Type a new tag name when editing a link
  • In advance: Go to Tags to create and manage tags

Filtering by Tags

Use tags to quickly find links:

  • Click any tag to filter the links list
  • Combine multiple tags for specific filters
  • Use tag search in the dashboard
  • Filter analytics by tag

Bulk Tagging

Apply tags to multiple links at once:

  1. Select links using checkboxes
  2. Click Bulk Actions
  3. Choose Add Tags or Remove Tags
  4. Select tags and apply

Folders

Folders provide hierarchical organization, perfect for project-based workflows.

Create nested folders up to 5 levels deep:

Creating Folders

  1. Go to Folders in your dashboard
  2. Click New Folder
  3. Enter folder name
  4. Select parent folder (optional)
  5. Save
  • When creating: Select folder in link creation form
  • Drag and drop: Drag links to folders in sidebar
  • Bulk move: Select multiple links and use Bulk Actions
  • Edit link: Change folder in link edit form

Folder Analytics

View combined analytics for all links in a folder:

  • Total clicks across all folder links
  • Top performing links in folder
  • Geographic breakdown for folder
  • Compare folder performance over time

Bulk Operations

Perform actions on multiple links simultaneously:

  1. Check the boxes next to links you want to modify
  2. Or use "Select All" to select the entire page
  3. Click Bulk Actions button
  4. Choose your action
  5. Confirm and execute

Archiving

Archive old links to keep your workspace clean without losing data:

  • Archived links still redirect visitors
  • Analytics continue to be tracked
  • Archived links are hidden from main list by default
  • Toggle "Show Archived" to view archived links
  • Unarchive anytime to restore to main list
